SIGN DEPOT COLOSSAL CARNAGE 150
LIVES UP TO ITS
NAME -
ST. GERMAIN HANDED $7,000 WIN |
The inaugural edition of the Sign Depot Colossal Carnage $7,000
to win, 150 lap Enduro certainly lived up to its name as the
event was filled with thrill, chills and four major spills
before the fun filled event had the checkers wave on Martin
Engerson this past Sunday afternoon at Oxford Plains Speedway in
Oxford, Maine.
Billy Childs Jr. and Trevor Sanborn set a
blistering pace over the first half of the race before flat
tires sent both entries to the garage area for repairs. The
carnage was high as several hard crashes took place around the
Speedway including four rollovers. Engerson took over the lead
about lap 125 and appeared to have crossed the finish line
first, but after checking the scorecard, it was found to be out
of stock, thus relinquishing the $7,000 payday to runner-up,
Mike St. Germain. Richie Turner, Billie Childs Jr., Josh Knoll
and Scott Fowler rounded out the top five. |

FLAGS
- The Enduro basically has just three flags that the
flagman will use during the event. |
Green
– The flag which will be waved to start the event at the
beginning of the race, and subsequently for each time
the race needs to be restarted.
Red
– This flag will be waved when there is a major incident
on the Speedway. Red flags will only be thrown in the
case of a fire, a hard wreck, a flipping car, or a car
stalled in a dangerous position with the driver’s side
door showing towards the field. When the red flag is
waved you must come to a complete halt as quick and as
safely as possible.
Black – This is the
consultation flag and you must go to the pit immediately
if this is waved at you. This flag is waved for an
inappropriate act on the track, intentionally wrecking
someone, or it could just be for a dangerous mechanical
problem on your car. |

FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS |
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE ALLOWED IN THE PITS? The
minimum age allowed in the pits is 10 years old. If your
child is not at least ten years of age, please do not
ask to bring them in!! Regardless of age, everyone
entering the pits must sign in, and pay the $25 fee.
However, if your child is seen unattended, then the
child may be forced to sit in the grandstands. The pit
area is a very hectic place and we do not want any
accidents of any kind in the pits. Everyone under the
age of 18 must sign a minor release form.
CAN I
ENTER MY CAR ON DAY OF RACE? Yes you can enter right
up until ˝ hour before post time which is 1:30pm.
EVERY CAR NEEDS A SCORER!!!
ITEMS A SCORER
NEEDS AND MUST BRING WITH THEM We highly encourage
all scorers to bring a clipboard with the number of the
car that they are scoring on the back written with a
bright colored marker so that it is easy to spot. Each
scorer needs to bring numerous pencils to score with.
WHAT DOES A SCORER DO? We clock score this race which
means your scorer must write down the number on the
clock every time you cross the start finish line. This
is a very important job, and requires someone that has a
good attention span. The scorers must sit in the
grandstands in a special scoring area. Only scorers, no
children, boyfriends, husbands, wives, etc. will be
allowed in the scoring area, so please plan accordingly.
HOW IMPORTANT IS A GOOD SCORER? Your scorer is
your lifeline! If your scorer makes a mistake, or has
doctored your score sheet, they are responsible, not us.
Example: Even if we know that you won the race, but your
score sheet is off, you will not be declared the winner.
Make sure you have a competent scorer!!
THERE
WILL BE A MANDAORY SCORERS MEETING There will be a
mandatory scorers meeting in the grandstands prior to
the event. This meeting will be held at 12pm, (noon)
sharp. Attendance will be taken by car number.
Instructions will be given at the meeting.
NO
SCORER, NO RACE!
SCORING CHEATERS ARE EASY TO BE
CAUGHT! We fortunately have one of the best Enduro
scorers that will be found anywhere in the country. Val
can detect a cheating score sheet a mile away. HINT,
HINT. If your car is scored doing 18 seconds every lap,
then you are cheating. We keep track of when cars go in
and out of the pits so that we can score as well. If we
find that a certain cars scorecard is not quite right,
we will start scoring that car in the tower.
YOU
DO NOT HAVE TO SIGN OVER YOUR CAR TO TRACK! You don’t
have to sign your car over to the race track. However,
your car must be off the grounds within 24 hours unless
you have made plans with Track management.
ENTRY
FEES Entry fee for the event is now $75. Your entry
fee does not include your $25 pit fee which will be paid
upon entry into the pit area on the day of the event.
You may pre-enter to secure your car number. The only
way to secure the number you want is to pre-enter the
event. This can be done by stopping into the OPS office,
or phone in your entry and pay by credit card, check or
cash. If the number on your car has already been taken,
then you will be asked to change your number for the
race. No duplicate numbers will be allowed. Numbers on
race day will be issued on a first come, first serve
basis by the registration team.
PITS WILL OPEN AT
7AM ON RACEDAY The pit area will open at 7am on race
day. The pit price is $25 per person. We will have
parking attendants for this event and you must follow
their instructions.
