DUNPHY JR. SCORES SEVENTH WIN IN CRUISERS |
OXFORD - Outlaw rookie Shaun Hinkley of Oxford
won his 3rd feature of the season during the 4th Motor
Mayhem of 2019 Saturday afternoon.
Jason Cyr of
Turner captured his 2nd win in the 4-Cylinder Figure 8
division beating out Brandon Varney of Mechanic Falls
who finished 2nd and points leader Dustin Salley also of
Mechanic Falls who finished in 3rd place.
Ryan
Farrar of Oxford picked up his 3rd Sport Tuck win after
taking the lead early in the race. Rick Dobson of
Hartford held off Max Rowe for 2nd place, Max Rowe of
Turner settled for 3rd place.
Nate Dubuc of
Lewiston took home his 2nd Rebel race of the season
after race winner Matt Mahar was DQ'd in tech. David
Cook took the early lead in the race before Dana Cook
worked his way up and took the lead on lap 3. Addie
McDaniel moved into 2nd before taking the lead on lap 4.
Dana Cook fell to 3rd and Matt Mahar pulled up to battle
McDaniel for the lead, Mahar took the lead on lap
12.While McDaniel was fighting back for the lead, she
made contact with a lap car on lap 12, sending her into
the back stretch wall. On the restart, Mahar kept the
lead for the rest of the race. Dubuc officially got the
win after tech, Cam Childs of Leeds finished 2nd, and
Cody White of West Paris picked up 3rd place.
William Dunphy Jr of New Gloucester crossed the
checkered in first place for the 7th time in 2019 in the
Cruisers division. Phil Knowlton took the lead from
Brian Hiscock after a first lap caution. Knowlton held
off Dunphy until lap 9. Gerard Cote passed Hiscock for
3rd on lap 5 and held off Bill Grover until the end.
Phil Knowlton of Minot finished in 2nd with Gerard Cote
of Oxford getting a season best of 3rd place.
Chloe Kiley of West Paris won her first Ladies feature
of the season ending Breeanna Spaulding's winning
streak, Spaulding did not race on Saturday as she was
getting married. Kiley led the entire race with Deanna
Bisbee chasing her down after passing Shelby Shurtleff
early in the race. Bisbee took home 2nd while Shurtleff
settled for 3rd place.
Dean Hanscom took the
early lead in the Outlaw feature with Hinkley behind him
in 2nd while Calab Emerson-Mains and Gerald Freve
battled for 3rd. Brandon Varney went to the outside and
tried to pass for 3rd, Mains passed for 3rd on lap 4.
Hinkley chased down Hanscom and took the lead on lap 12.
Varney stayed on the outside and tried to pass Hinkley
and Hanscom but got caught up in lap traffic and fell
back. Hinkley of Oxford took the win. Dan Hanscom of
Gray settled for 2nd while Calab Emerson-Mains of
Richmond picked up 3rd. |
