Hinkley Wins First Outlaw Feature
During OAS Opening Night

OXFORD, ME - The Oxford Acceleration Series kicked off their first Wednesday night races of the season this week with a nearly caution free night of exciting racing.

The night started off with 15 year old Kolby Morrell of Standish nailing down his first career win in the trucks division. Morrell started in the back and made his way to 2nd early in the race. Morrell and Jake Dobson put on quite the show battling for the lead until the last lap. During the closing laps Dobson and Morrell went three- wide around lap cars before Morrell finally got by during the final lap. Jake Dobson of Hartford settled for 2nd, Chuck Estes of New Gloucester took home 3rd while Rick Dobson of Hartford and Randy Green of West Paris rounded out the top 5.

Dustin Salley of Mechanic Falls captured the win in the 4 cylinder figure 8s, after a hard battle with Joshua Dube most of the race. Josh Dube of Auburn ended up holding off Michael Mckinney who he made contact with early in the race. Mckinney of Bryant Pond still managed to pick up 3rd place even with a flat tire.

Breanna Spaulding of Lisbon won her second ladies feature in a row. Spaulding took the lead less than a lap into the race from Chloe Kiley and led the rest of the 20 laps. Addie McDaniels of Bridgton soon after passed Kiley for 2nd place, Chloe Kiley of South Paris settled for a 3rd place finish. Susan Veinott of Greene and Annie Charter of Mexico finished 4th and 5th respectively.

Luke Decoster of Greene took home the win in the Cruisers division. Decoster passed Matt Hiscock on lap 4 for the lead and led the field to the checkered. Bill Grover of Waterford cruised in 2nd during the racing holding off William Dunphy Jr of New Gloucester who ended up finishing in 3rd. Phillip Knowlton of Minot and Carl Conant of Lewiston rounded out the top 5.

John Childs of Leeds dominated the Rebels feature leading all 20 laps. After a few cautions Chris Foster comfortably finished in 2nd place while Cody White and Cam Childs battled for 3rd late in the race. Childs won the battle and took home a 3rd place finish. Adam O'Neil and Nate Dubuc of Lewiston finished behind them in 4th and 5th respectively.

Shaun Hinkley redeemed himself this week after getting a DNF at the first Motor Mayhem last month. He came back this week to win his heat race and lead all 20 laps of the outlaws feature. Fellow rookie Brandon Varney followed closely behind him in 2nd until he spun the last lap of the race. Rick Thompson of Naples quickly snatched up 2nd place while Gerald Freve of Buckfield managed to get 3rd place. Dean Hanscom of Gray and Jonathon Emerson of Sabbattus finished 4th and 5th respectively.
