Back to Back SLM Wins For Farrington
|
OXFORD, ME -- Dave Farrington Jr of
Sabattus became the first of the season to win back to
back features in the Crazy Horse Racing Super Late
Models at Oxford Plains Speedway. This week was the
first week the Figure 8 divisions returned to the track
this season and boy, did they put on a show for the
fans.
Scott Merrill of Poland won his first
Vierra State Farm Agency Tiger Cat Figure 8s feature of
the season. Merrill took the early lead and held on to
the lead for 15 exciting laps. Charlie Hall J.r of
Oxford picked up 2nd while Ralph Green of Sabattus took
home a 3rd place finish.
Chloe Kiley of South
Paris won her 4th Ladies
feature. Sue Veinott took the early lead but was passed
by Betty Nelson before the first lap was complete.
Veinott fell to 2nd until being passed by Chloe Kiley on
lap 3. After a caution on lap 4, Kiley and Nelson
battled for the lead and Kiley took over leading the
field. Kiley led the rest of the feature. Betty Nelson
of Limington settled for 2nd while Kasie Kolbe of Lisbon
claimed the last podium spot.
Will Dunphy Jr. of
New Glouester also picked up his 4th win of the season
in the Rogees Auto Repair and Sales Cruisers. Bill
Grover took the early lead with Phil Knowlton behind him
in 2nd. Dunphy made his move on lap 4 passing Knowlton
for 2nd. He moved on to Grover, but Grover held him off
until lap 11 before Dunphy finally passed him on the
outside. Knowlton passed Grover for 2nd on lap 15. Phil
Knowlton of Minot finished in 2nd with Bill Grover of
Waterford rounding out the top 3.
Cam Childs of
Leeds captured his first win in the Harnish HVAC
Consulting Outlaws. Breeanna Spaulding took the early
lead with John Lizotte in 2nd and Brady Childs in 3rd.
Brady moved to the outside of Lizotte and took 2nd from
him on lap 7 while Spaulding pulled away from the field.
Cam Childs took 3rd from Lizotte on lap 10. After a
caution on lap 16 the field got shuffled. As Brady and
Spaulding were racing for the lead side by side,
Spaulding pulled away but Cam Childs moved up the
outside and passed Spaulding on the last lap to win.
Spaulding ended up spinning on turn 4 and finished in
11th place. Jonathan Emerson of Sabattus got 2nd while
Brandon Varney of Mechanic Falls picked up 3rd place.
David Cook of Jay won his first Mixers Night Club
and Lounge Rebels feature of the season. Cook took the
early lead after a caution on lap 2. Matt Mahar made his
move after the restart and made his way to Cook on lap
3. Mahar spent the rest of the feature on Cook's bumper.
David Cook led all 20 laps of the feature. Matthew Mahar
of Turner ended up settling for 2nd breaking his winning
streak while AJ Smith of Oxford brought home 3rd.
Jake Dobson of Hartford captured his 3rd win of the
season in the DnL Weatherization Sport Trucks. Alex
Moore took the lead after a caution on lap 2. Dobson
moved into 2nd with Ryan Farrar creeping up the outside.
Dobson passed Moore for the lead on lap 4 and Farrar
took over 2nd. Moore slipped further back and Rick
Dobson moved into 3rd. Randy Green then took 3rd for a
few laps before Moore finally took back the spot on lap
15. Ryan Farrar of Oxford and Alex Moore of Oxford
finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Larry Lizotte
of Poland picked up right where he left off winning his
first Figure 8 feature of the season. Lizotte led all 20
laps, Dale Lawrence of Minot got 2nd place with Eric
Hodgkins of Winthrop taking home a 3rd place trophy.
Maddy Herrick won her first race of the season in
the T&M Commercial Funding Rookies. Cody Macomber
brought the field to green but had a mishap at the start
leading to a caution. Maddy Herrick took the lead on the
restart and led the rest of the 15 lap feature. Alex
Wilson of Naples picked up a 2nd place finish with
Jeremy Turner of Norway rounding out the top 3.
Alex Mowatt of Norway won his 3rd Spencer Paving Group
Bandits race of the season. Eric Parlin took the early
lead from Josh Lovell while Chad Wills and Chris Foster
battled for 3rd. As Wills passed Lovell on lap 4 for
2nd, Foster followed. After a caution on lap 6
Parlin kept the lead but another caution came out for
Parlin when his car began smoking so much they were
afraid fluid was leaking on the track. After track
officials checked underneath his car he remained the
leader. Alex Mowatt powered up the outside on the
restart and took the lead. Parlin fell to 2nd, and Wills
took over 3rd. Mowatt led the rest of the feature. Eric
Parlin of Oxford settled for 2nd place while Chad Wills
picked up 3rd in a borrowed car after his car was
wrecked last week.
Matt Dufault of Naples
dominated in the Street
Stocks to win his first feature of the season. Dufault
took the early lead with Shawn Knight and Patrick Thorne
racing behind him. Knight pulled away and Thorne fell
back to battle with Richard Spaulding. Caution came out
on lap 16 when Jordan Russell and Billy Childs got
together on turn 3. Shortly after that major carnage
occurred once again on turn 3 involving Childs, Russell,
Skip Stanley, and Zach Bowie. All of the cars were able
to drive off but most were heavily damaged. Shawn Knight
pulled his car off under caution so Dan Brown took over
3rd. Childs and Russell both managed to finish the race.
Dufault led the rest of the race with Thorne behind in
2nd and Brown in 3rd. Dan Brown of Peru officially
finished 2nd after tech making Billy Childs Jr. of Leeds
the 3rd place finisher.
Alan Wilson took the
early lead in the Crazy Horse Racing Super Late Models
with Shawn Martin in 2nd and Adam Polevinen battling for
3rd with Scott Moore. Martin took the lead after a
caution on lap 9. Scott Robbins made his way to the
inside of Wilson taking 2nd from him on lap 11.
Farrington began making his way to the front passing
Wilson on lap 24 before passing Robbins on lap 31 for
2nd. Farrington raced up to the leader and finally
managed to take the lead from him on lap 34. Scott
Robbins of Dixfield crossed the line in 2nd place while
Shawn Martin of Turner ended up settling for 3rd. |
