Cookson Wins 2nd Race of the Season |
Max Cookson of Pittsfield captured his second
win of the season in the RB Performance Super Late
Models racing under storm clouds that threatened to end
the feature early.
Charlie Young of Oxford won
his 5th Kyle Hewins Motorsports/Floor Solutions
Thunderstocks feature of the season. Adam Stearns picked
up 2nd with Tucker Haskell finishing in 3rd place.
Evan Roy of Turner took home his 2nd win of the
season in the ATA Piping Rookies. Alexis Lundblad took
the lead early on with Cody Macomber battling on the
outside of her to take the lead. Macomber took the lead
on lap 3 and unfortunately Lundblad fell back. She and
Jeremy Turner made contact sending her off the track on
turn 4. While under caution it began to rain causing an
hour rain delay. When the race resumed, Evan Roy took
the lead from Macomber and led the rest of the feature.
Jaxson Moorside finished in 2nd place with Cody Macomber
picking up 3rd.
Shawn Knight of South Paris won
his 3rd Kennebec Equipment Rental MODS feature of the
season. Brad Hammond took the early lead with Knight
chasing him down. Hammond was able to hold him off until
lap 15 when Knight finally took the lead from him.
Hammond spun shortly after, causing others to spin to
miss him. Troy Morse unluckily was unable to miss him.
Brandon Varney took over 2nd on the restart with Garrett
Lamb in 3rd. They finished the race 2nd and 3rd
respectively.
Corey Morgan of Lewiston captured
his 3rd win of the season in the Cooley's Commercial
tires Mad Bombers. Taylor Graffam took the early lead
with Derek Burnham chasing her down in 2nd. Burnham took
the lead on lap 7 but didn't lead long. Morgan, charging
through the field, took the lead on lap 11. The rain
came before the feature ended giving Morgan the win.
Derek Burnham finished 2nd with Alex Wilson rounding out
the top 3.
David Oliver took the early lead
pulling away from the field in the RB Performance Super
Late Models. Tracy Gordon was in 2nd early on with
Travis Buzzell in 3rd. Buzzell eventually fell back so
Brian Whalley moved up also passing Gordon on lap 30.
Richie Brown took over 3rd place on lap 39. Max Cookson
came out of nowhere and drove up the outside quickly
picking off his competitors. Cookson took the lead on
lap 44 and led the rest of the 50 lap feature. Scott
Moore passed the 3rd and 2nd SLMs before a caution on
lap 47. Scott Moore picked up 2nd place with Richie
Brown finishing in 3rd.
Figure 8s and Street
Stocks did not race this week due to the program being
cut short because of rain. The Limiteds also had the
night off.
Get ready for a busy weekend coming
up: the Oxford Acceleration Series kicks off on Friday,
June 10th at 7:00 PM, the Oxford Championship Series
continues Saturday, June 11th at 6:00 PM, and on Sunday
the PASS Super Late Models are back in town for a PASS
150 starting at 1:30 PM! |
