Austin Teras Scores First SLM Win |
Austin Teras picked up his first win of the
season at Oxford Plains Speedway in the RB Performance
Super Late Models. After a rough start to the season, it
seems like Austin's luck has turned around. The SLM race
saw the ninth different driver score a win in 2022.
Jeremy Turner took home his 5th win of the season in
the ATA Piping Inc. Rookies division. Cayleigh Rose took
the early lead and held off the field until lap 5 when
Turner took the lead. Evan Roy worked his way through
the field passing Rose for 2nd on lap 8. Evan Roy took
home a 2nd place finish with Karson Hewins picking up
3rd place.
Brandon Varney earned his 2nd win of
the season in the Kennebec Equipment Rental Modifieds.
Varney led all 30 laps of the feature.Troy Morse picked
up 2nd place with Shawn Knight finishing in 3rd.
Cam Childs won his 2nd Richard Spaulding Roofing Street
Stocks of the season Saturday night. Childs took the
early lead after a caution on lap 1. Behind him Jordan
Russell and Tyson Jordan raced side by side for 2nd
place before Russell was finally able to pull away on
lap 12. Russell raced up to Childs but was unable to get
him before a red flag came out on the last lap. Joey
Israelson made contact with Joe Hutter causing him to
spin. Unfortunately when he spun Richard Spaulding was
right behind him so Hutter got lifted, making him roll
over. Hutter was fine landing back on his wheels but he
was very unhappy with Israelson, Hutter climbed out of
his car and ran across the infield to try to have a word
with Israelson but was stopped by track officials.
Jordan Russell and Tyson Jordan finished 2nd and 3rd
respectively.
Brian Caswell captured the win in
the Cooley's Commercial Tires Mad Bombers. Tony Gibbons
took the early lead before Jacoby Mains made contact
with Gibbons spinning him on lap 4. The tangle ended
Gibbons night and caused a few other cars to wreck as
well. Nate Barth took the lead on the restart with
Spencer Barth and Ed Johnson behind him racing side by
side for 2nd place. Caswell made his way up through the
field going 3 wide to pass Johnson and S. Barth before
taking the lead on lap 14. Caswell led the rest of the
feature. Nate Barth picked up 2nd place with Ed Johnson
taking home 3rd place.
Austin Teras took the
early lead in the RB Performance Super Late Models and
ended up leading all 50 laps of the caution filled
feature. Dave Farrington finished in 2nd place with Kyle
Desouza picking up 3rd after passing Max Cookson on lap
48.
Other winners during Oxford Championship
Series was Charlie Young winning his 9th feature of the
season in the Kyle Hewins Motorsports / Floor Solutions
Thunderstocks, and Larry Lizotte winning his 2nd feature
of the season in the Aroma Joe's Figure 8s. |
