Exciting additions in store
for 2009 Motor Mayhem
OXFORD, Maine - If you think you've seen Motor
Mayhem at Oxford Plains Speedway before, you might not recognize the
three-race series in 2009.
All the traditional
favorite activities will return, of course. Count on Twin Enduros,
the Smoky Donut Show and Spectator Drags to provide thrills around
every turn.
As they say on TV:
"But wait, there's more!"
Our first Mayhem event kicks off on
Friday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m. That night will feature the return of
the popular tag-team race, in which two drivers and two cars will
team up for a 20-lap race. The competitors will compete in
five-lap shifts before tagging (OK, bumping) their partner into
the fray.
The Vertical Outlaws motorcycle stunt team also will be part of
the first Mayhem of the season, along with Transaurus, the car
crushing dinosaur enjoyed by fans from 2 to 102.
We'll cap off the night with a first for OPS: Camper/Trailer
racing. You might have seen this on TV, but it's never been
attempted at Oxford and you don't want to miss it.
Our second Mayhem event is scheduled for Friday, August 7. We'll
again feature Spectator Drags, Smokey Donut Show, Twin Enduros,
Tag Team and Camper/Trailer racing. This time, however, the
special guest is none other than the Dodge Raminator Monster
Truck!
Our third and final Mayhem will be the return of "Halloween
on Wheels" on Sunday, Oct. 25. Joining Spectator Drags,
Smokey Donut Show, Twin Enduros, Tag Team and Camper/Trailer
racing is the first Demolition Derby at OPS in more than a decade.
Look for more details on all these wild events coming soon!
