LATE MODEL TIRE POLICY
Updated May 9, 2009
Late Model teams will buy six tires
on opening day.
They must buy three right-side tires and three left-side tires. They
must run four of those tires.
The other two tires will become spare/bank tires.
After the first week, teams will be allowed to buy one tire per
week. New tires must be run on the night they are purchased.
Spare/bank tires may be used to replace a cut or worn tire.
After Week 1, no more than two new tires may be run on any given
night.
A maximum of eight tires may be left in the tire storage trailer.
Only tires left in the storage trailer will be allowed to race in
the heat and feature events.
Tire slips with all eligible tire numbers must be turned in to race
officials before each heat and feature race. Teams found with tires
other than inventoried tires on the car either in the heat or
feature will be disqualified. Other penalties to include fines and
suspensions may be imposed.
New tires that are cut or damaged before the feature may be
replaced, but the replacement tire must be purchased and run in the
feature.
