agreement that makes local radio station WOXO "The
Official Radio Station of Oxford Plains Speedway."
Bennet Radio Group came into existence in mid-2020
and is now comprised of 7 radio stations in Western and
Central Maine, including the WOXO and WIGY brands.
"I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of Oxford
Plains Speedway again in 2023," said Owner Stan Bennett.
"I am a longtime race fan, and was very happy to partner
with the Speedway, and I am excited to take it to the
next level in 2023. The Speedway is such an important
part of the Oxford Hills Community. It's just a perfect
fit."
As a part of the agreement, WOXO will also
lend its name to the ever popular WOXO Motor Mayhem
Series which runs at least four times per year. Coupled
with a pair of WOXO/WIGY nights throughout the season,
OPS and BRG have worked hard to intertwine a presence at
each entity with race reports, live interviews with
speedway officials, and at the track promotion that
benefits everyone.
Officials at BRG and OPS are
hard at work finalizing dates for the radio promotions,
but did note that the first event of 2023 will be live
broadcasts at the Mall show coming up March 3rd-5th.
