DEANA BISBEE ROCKS
THE HOUSE WITH OXFORD ACCELERATION SERIES OUTLAW WIN |
It was a wet dreary day
throughout the State of Maine this past Wednesday, but
the Weather Gods spared the Oxford Plains Speedway area
just enough to allow the Oxford Wednesday night series
get the show in its’ entirety. Winners included Deana
Bisbee, Ryan Farrar, Jamie Heath, Will Dunphy and Shelby
Lawrence.
A solid field of Outlaws took the green
flag with polesitter, Joe Morey jumping out to the lead.
Deana Bisbee made a bold three wide pass in the early
going from her eighth starting spot and set sail to
chase down the fast Morey machine. While she reeled him
in, Chris Burgess was working his way from the back of
the pack and into the fourth spot. With six laps
remaining Bisbee slipped by Morey on the outside to take
over the lead, Burgess and George Haskell both passed
Morey with four laps remaining and set their sights on
Bisbee. The young lady kept her composure and scored her
second win of the season. Burgess, Haskell, Morey and
Bryce Mains chased her to the stripe. Heat wins went to
Bisbee and Morey.
Ryan Farrar edged out Mark
Grantham and Brian Darling in a highly entertaining
Sport Truck feature event. Gerry Mikenna and Kevin
Oliver completed the top five. Grantham captured the
qualifying round.
Will Dunphy dusted the Cruiser
field as he easily bested Scott Veniott, Ronnie O’Brien
and James Record.
A tremendously exciting show
was put on by the Runnin’ Rebels as point leader and
division hotshoe Jamie Heath somehow emerged the winner
in a near photo finish over Cody White. Heath was
sitting fourth when the caution came out for a spin by a
couple of top five cars allowing Heath to start outside
of White. They raced side by side over the final two
laps with Heath nipping White at the stripe. Cam Childs,
Shawn Swallow and Eddie Smith rounded out the top five.
Heat checkers flew for White and Heath.
The
Allen’s Coffee Flavored Brandy Ladies division was full
of excitement as Missy Morgan and Dottie Patria tangled
battling for the lead bringing out the caution. Morgan’s
car suffered damage and she had to pit. She re-entered
the track as the field went green Shelby Lawrence took
over the lead and never looked back grabbing the
checkered flag ahead of both Patria and Morgan whom
raced hard from the rear. Michele Bisbee placed fourth
ahead of Sue Veniott. Morgan won the qualifying round.
The Oxford Acceleration Series returns to action on
Friday night as part of the Oxford 250 weekend. Post
time is 7:30pm. |
