Oxford, Maine - Scott Payea of Milton, Vermont
prevailed in Saturday night's Dave's Small Engines /
Ferris Mowers 100 at Oxford Plains Speedway, an
unusually good American-Canadian Tour Late Model race.
Payea and three other drivers swapped the race lead
thirteen times, and eventual second-place finisher Eddie
MacDonald of Rowley, Massachusetts never got to the
front despite swapping spots with the leaders throughout
the century grind.
Dillon Moltz of Waterford,
Connecticut finish third after starting the race from
19th position. Windham's Brad Babb led the race on five
occasions before settling for a fourth-place finish.
Barre, Vermont's Nick Sweet rounded out the top five.
Anthony Nocella of Woburn, Massachusetts aced the
100-lap race for the Valenti Modified Racing Series.
Series points leader Jon McKennedy of Chelmsford,
Massachusetts was closest to Nocella at the finish line.
Todd Patnode of Richmond, New Hampshire was the
third-place finisher. Early Modified Racing Series race
leader Dave Schneider of Northport, New York and Donnie
Lashua of Canaan, New Hampshire were fourth and
fifth-place finishers, respectively.
Ben Tinker
of New Gloucester raced to an impressive victory in a
40-lap feature race for PASS Mods. Tinker got by early
race leader Bruce Helmuth of Wales, then held off 2015
OPS Mods champion Ryan Robbins of Dixfield.
Robbins chased Tinker under the checkered flag, while
Helmuth claimed a third-place finish. Dana Reed of
Shapleigh and reigning PASS Mods champion Andy Shaw of
Center Conway, New Hampshire rounded out the top five.
Calvin Rose, Jr., of Turner, returned to the top of
the Allen's Coffee Flavored Brandy Street Stock
championship battle with a 30-lap victory on Saturday
night. Rose used a three-wide move to set up his winning
pass.
Kurt Hewins of Leeds led a good chunk of
the race before Rose went by, and held on to post a
second-place finish. Guy Childs of Sabattus had a
season-best third-place run. Peru's Dan Brown and Skip
Tripp of South Paris filled out the top-five rundown.
Ryan Kuhn of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts romped
to victory in the 25-lap finale for Legends Cars racers.
Buxton's Colby Meserve was the runner-up, with points
leader Austin Teras of Windham third. Casey Call of
Pembroke, New Hampshire and Westbrook's Jon Peters
rounded out the top five.

Racing Association Late Model/Early Modified race and
held on to win despite overheating issues. Bobby Symonds
of Casco was the runner-up, in front of Boothbay
Harbor's Parker Long. Kevin Waterhouse of West Paris and
Freeport's Neil Martin rounded out the top five.
Arthur Hannaford of Hollis outran Lisbon's Gary Dwinal
to the checkered flag in the Wicked Good Vintage Racing
Association Outlaw main event. Gary Byington of
Unionville, Connecticut claimed the third-place trophy,
in front of Monmouth's Bob Guyon and Sid Smith of Mount
Vernon.
