Childs Goes Back-to-back in Outlaws |
OXFORD- Cody Childs of Auburn won once again in
the Outlaws making it two in a row during this week's
Oxford Acceleration Series.
Dustin Salley of
Mechanic Falls furthered his points lead winning his 6th
4 cylinder figure 8 race of the season.Salley took the
lead at the start with Joshua Dube chasing him down the
entire race but ended up crossing the line 2nd.
Unfortunately Dube was DQ'd in tech making Larry Lizotte
of Lewiston officially 2nd. Kevin Bishop of Oxford
picked 3rd while Greg Durgin of Norway took home 4th and
Josh Dube of Auburn got 5th.
Kolby Morrell of
Sebago picked up his 6th win of the season in Trucks
division. Rick Dobson took the early lead with Chuck
Estes moving into 2nd on lap 3 with Morrell and Max Rowe
chasing him down. Jared Kimball crept up on them passing
Morrell, Rowe,and Estes on lap 6th for 2nd place.
Morrell took over 3rd on lap 7 before moving on to pass
Kimball the same lap. By lap 11 Morrell had taken the
lead with Kimball and Rowe trying to catch him. Jared
Kimball of Arundel ended up taking home 2nd with Max
Rowe of Turner getting 3rd. The teenage top 3 were
followed by Rick Dobson of Hartford and points leader,
Randy Green of West Paris who finished 4th and 5th
respectively.
Cam Childs of Leeds took home his
3rd rebel win of the season. John Childs took the early
lead. After 3 cautions Cam jumped up to 2nd before
another caution came out lap 15. John got loose on the
restart and Cam took advantage taking the lead from his
father. A lap later another caution came out and John
headed to the pits putting an end to his night.On the
restart Nate Dubuc made contact with someone's tires
sending him off the track on turn 2. After all the
cautions Cam Childs ended up leading the field to the
checkered with points leader, Cody White of West Paris
in 2nd and Doug Degroat of New Gloucester finishing a
season best in 3rd. Nick Odgen and Chris Giguere rounded
out the top 5.
Will Dunphy Jr of New Gloucester
won his 5th Cruisers feature of the season furthering
his points lead. Dunphy took the lead at the start and
led the entire 20 laps. Phil Knowlton of Minot finished
in 2nd with Bill Grover of Waterford picking up 3rd.
Brian Hiscock of Turner and Gerard Cote of Oxford
finished 4th and 5th respectively.
Breeanna
Spaulding of Lisbon dominated in the ladies division
winning her 9th feature of the season. Spaulding took
the lead from Chloe Kiley at the start and couldn't be
caught. Chloe Kiley of South Paris settled for 2nd while
Susan Veinott of Greene picked up 3rd.
Cody
Childs won his 3rd Outlaw feature of the season after
bumper to bumper top 3 for 17 of the 20 laps. Matthew
Veinott took the early lead before Rick Thompson swooped
in and took the lead from him on lap 3. Brandon Varney
and Childs made their way to 2nd and 3rd place on lap 4
and quickly chased down the leader. Varney spent most of
the race trying to get the lead from Thompson before
running out of patience lap 17 and making contact with
the leaders bumper. Varney was sent to the rear making
Cody Childs the new leader. Dean Hanscom slid up into
2nd while Jacob Vaughn and Shaun Hinkley battled for 3rd
until the checkered. Cody Childs took home his first
back to back wins the outlaw class. Dean Hanscom of Gray
took home 3rd while Shaun Hinkley of Oxford ended up
winning the 3rd place spot. Jacob Vaughn of Naples and
points leader,Calab Emerson-Mains of Richmond rounded
out the top 5.
The Oxford Acceleration Series
continues Wednesday July 31st at 7pm while The Oxford
Championship Series returns this Saturday July 27th at
7pm. |
