2020 OPS Track Champion

OXFORD - TJ Brackett of Buckfield
capped the Oxford Championship Series by winning his
first of the season in the Super Late
Models. It's been a strange year, but we've finally
reached the end of the season and champions were
crowned. Some first time winners and some multi-time
winners but all were deserving.
Betty Nelson of
Limington won her 4th Ladies feature of the season.
After a hard battle between Chloe Kiley and Kasie Kolbe
that led to a caution on lap 2, Nelson took the lead on
the restart and led the rest of the feature. Chloe Kiley
of South Paris took home 2nd and her 2nd Ladies
Championship in a row, Kasie Kolbe of Lisbon picked up
3rd.
Will Dunphy Jr. of New Glouester led all 20
laps of the Rogee's Auto Repair & Sales Cruisers Feature
to capture the win and his 4th Cruisers Championship.
Phil Knowlton of Minot and Dominik Knowlton also of
Minot finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Jason
Cyr of Turner won his first Tiger Cat Figure 8 feature
of the season leading all 15 laps. Jamie Heath of
Waterford made an impressive debut in Figure 8s
finishing 2nd while Dustin Salley of Mechanic Falls
finished in 3rd place. Kevin Varney of Mechanic Falls
won the championship.
Brady Childs of Leeds
dominated in the Harnish HVAC Consulting Outlaws to win
his first feature in the division. Brandon Varney and
Cam Childs battled for 2nd during the last half of the
race. Brandon Varney of Mechanic Falls took home 2nd and
the Outlaw championship while Cam Childs of Leeds
finished in 3rd place.
John Childs of Leeds won
his first Mixers Nightclub and Lounge Rebels feature of
the season. Childs took the lead on lap 5 and led the
rest of the 20 lap feature. Dustin Salley of Mechanic
Falls took 2nd while Greg Norton of Lewiston settled for
3rd. Matthew Mahar of Turner won the Rebels
Championship.
Ryan Farrar of Oxford won his 7th
DnL Weatherization Sport Truck feature of the season and
was crowned Champion for the 3rd time. Brad Weissman got
2nd with Alex Moore of Oxford rounding out the top 3.
Eric Hodgkins of Winthrop won his first Vierra State
Farm Agency Figure 8s feature of the season. Greg Durgin
of South Paris held him off for the first 10 laps before
settling for a 2nd place finish while Larry Lizotte of
Poland rounded out the top 3. Kyle Glover of Oxford
captured the Championship.
Alex Mowatt of Norway
won his 4th Spencer Paving Group Bandits feature of the
season cementing his Bandits Championship. Eric Parlin
took the early lead. After a caution on lap 2, Alex
Mowatt took the lead and held it for the rest of the 20
lap feature. Luke Mowatt of Norway finished in 2nd place
while Eric Parlin of Oxford settled for 3rd.
Samuel Wardwell won the T&M Commercial Funding Rookies
feature after leading all 20 laps. Maddy Herrick
finished the race in 2nd while Alex Wilson took home
3rd. Jeremy Turner won the 2020 Rookie Championship.
Billy Childs Jr. of Leeds won his 3rd Street Stock
feature of the season along with the 2020 Street Stock
Championship. Cody Childs took the early lead while
Billy Childs was making his way through the field. B.
Childs finally took the lead on lap 22 and Matt Dufault
followed, taking over 2nd on lap 24. Matt Dufault of
Naples finished in 2nd with Cody Childs of Auburn taking
home a solid 3rd place finish.
TJ Brackett
started pole and ran away with the lead. Brandon Barker
raced in 2nd with Alan Tardiff in 3rd early on in the
race. After a caution on lap 17 Barker fell back and
Tardiff moved up to 2nd. Barker made his way back up to
race side by side with him until Dave Farrington Jr.
moved to the outside and passed making it three wide.
Farrington took over 2nd on lap 27. Tardiff and Barker
fell off the pace shortly after. Mike Rowe moved into
3rd with Curtis Gerry on the outside groove. Gerry took
over 3rd and quickly moved up to chase down the leaders.
TJ Brackett led the rest of the feature with Dave
Farrington Jr. of Sabbattus in 2nd and Curtis Gerry of
Waterboro picking up 3rd place. Dave Farrington Jr. also
captured the 2020 Track Championship at Oxford Plains
Speedway. |
