Renfrew Masters His Debut |
Jimmy Renfrew, and his Renfrew Motorsports team,
are well known in the Northeast as fierce competitors in
the street stock type cars. Saturday was no different as
he wired the 40 lap Honey Badger Street Stock Series
race for his first career win in his first start. Using
the benefit of his pole starting spot in the heat,
Renfrew parlayed that into his 1st place starting spot
for the feature and never looked back at the drop of the
green.
HBSSS point leader Jordan Russell brought
it home in the 2nd spot and was closing in on Renfrew in
the closing laps before running out of time. In a clean
race Russell stated he just needed a yellow to catch up
after being regulated to a 7th starting spot. Matt
Dufault survived a blistered tire to score the final
podium spot while Brian Caswell and Mark Turner rounded
out the top 5.
The HBSSS make the trek to
Thunder Road in Vermont on October 2nd before returning
to Oxford Plains Speedway on the 17th for their finale. |
