Brackett Captures his First Win
of the
Season at OPS |
OXFORD, ME - Tim Brackett of Buckfield
put on quite the performance in the Super Late Models
Saturday night winning his first race of the season on
the final lap of the feature. All the divisions put on
great shows this week that fans would have loved to see.
Matt Mahar of Turner took home his 4th win of the
season in the Mixers Night Club and Lounge Runnin'
Rebels feature. Mahar took the early lead but fell back
right before a caution on lap 4. Mahar pitted under
caution and restarted in the back of the field. On the
restart Thomas Richards who started pole was spun and
brought out a caution. Corey Roussel took the lead on
the restart with Dustin Salley behind him in 2nd. Mahar
made his way through the field and was sitting in 3rd.
After a debris caution on lap 9 Mahar made his move and
took back the lead on lap 10. Roussel and Salley battled
it out for 2nd before Salley spun on lap 12, losing all
of his momentum. The rest of the feature Roussel was on
Mahar's bumper. He finally made his move during the last
lap. They finished the race side by side at the finish
line so close they were unsure who had gotten it. Matt
Mahar ended up being the winner while Corey Roussel of
South Paris took home a still impressive 2nd place.
Butch Keene of Turner rounded out the top 3 after tech.
Matt Hiscock of Turner captured his first win of the
season in the Rogees Auto Repair & Sales Cruisers
division. Hiscock took the early lead and led all 20
laps. Phil Knowlton of Minot reached his bumper a few
times but had to settle for 2nd while Bill Grover of
Waterford picked up 3rd place.
Betty Nelson of
Limington won her 3rd Allen's Coffee Flavored Brandy
Ladies feature. Nelson led all 20 laps. Addie McDaniel
worked her way through the field and took over 3rd on
lap 3 before finally taking over 2nd on lap 9. Chloe
Kiley followed passing Kasie Kolbe for 3rd. Addie
McDaniel of Bridgton finished 2nd with Chloe Kiley of
South Paris taking home 3rd.
Ryan Farrar of
Oxford topped the field in the DnL Weatherization Sport
Truck feature, winning his 3rd of the season. Lukas
Mitchell took the early lead before Farrar passed him
for the lead on lap 4. After a caution on lap 5, Jake
Dobson took over 2nd on the restart. Behind him Max Rowe
was catching up to Alex Moore passing him for 3nd on lap
18 before passing Jake Dobson on the final lap for 2nd
place.
Brandon Varney of Mechanic Falls won his
4th Harnish HVAC Consulting Outlaws feature. Deanna
Bisbee took the early lead before a caution came out on
lap 2 because of a pile-up on turn 1. Bisbee kept the
lead on the restart. Behind her Brady Childs, Rick
Thompson and Brandon Varney went 3 wide for 2nd.
Thompson ended up falling back but Childs and Varney
continued battling for 2nd. Varney moved up to Bisbee
and took the lead on lap 7. Bisbee fell to 2nd with
Childs in 3rd. Calab Emerson-Mains moved up to battle
for 3rd, before Childs passed Bisbee on lap 11 and
Emerson-Mains followed, taking over 3rd. Varney
dominated the rest of the feature with Brady Childs of
Leeds finished in 2nd and Calab Emerson-Mains of
Richmond settling for 3rd place.
Adrien Williams
won the 20 lap Wicked Good Vintage Racing Association
Hobby Division feature with Bub Dow and Rebecca Symonds
finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Alex Wilson
took home his 2nd win of the season in the T&M
Commercial Funding Rookies. Dylan Cook took the early
lead and led the first 9 laps before Wilson took the
lead. Jeremy Turner of Norway took home a 2nd place
finish with Dylan Cook of Minot rounding out the top 3.
Dan Brown of Peru won the Allen's Coffee Flavored
Brandy Street Stocks in an exciting last lap finish.
Skip Stanley took the early lead with Shawn Knight and
Matt Dufault battling for 2nd behind him. Dufault took
over 2nd on lap 4. Dan Brown moved up to battle for 3rd
and then up to 2nd on lap 17. Knight fell back and
Childs took over 3rd. Brown made his move on lap 28 and
battled it out with Stanley until the checkered waved.
Skip Stanley of Oxford ended up finishing in 2nd with
Billy Childs of Leeds taking home 3rd.
Chad Wills
of Oxford captured the win during the Spencer Davis
Paving Group Bandits feature. Nick Odgen took the early
lead with Wills behind him in 2nd and Josh Lovell in
3rd. Wills passed Odgen for the lead on lap 4. Travis
Verrill and Jeff Libby went three-wide passing Lovell on
lap 5. Libby took over 3rd and soon after Alex Mowatt
was at his bumper on lap 9. Mowatt passed on the inside
to take 3rd on lap 15, and Mowatt finally managed to
take over 2nd on the last lap.
Josh Childs took
the early in the Crazy Horse Racing Super Late Models.
Childs wasn't able to run away with the lead since Kyle
Desouza was right on his bumper. Brian Whalley passed
Mike Rowe for 3rd on lap 5 while Childs and Desouza
pulled away from the field. When a caution came out on
lap 16, Childs, Desouza, and Joey Doiron went three-wide
for the lead. Doiron took the spot while Childs stayed
right behind him. Tim Brackett moved to the outside of
Josh Childs and took over 2nd on lap 23. Curtis Gerry
made his way up through the field and passed Childs on
lap 40 for 3rd place. Doiron had pulled away from the
field and looked like he was going to run away with it.
But suddenly with 2 laps remaining Brackett was
challenging on the outside of Doiron. Brackett and
Doiron were neck and neck at the line. Tim Brackett got
him at the line, Joey Doiron of Berwick had to settle
for 2nd while Curtis Gerry of Waterboro picked up a
solid 3rd place. |
