Three in a Row For Farrington at OPS
|
OXFORD - Dave Farrington J.r of
Sabattus is on a hot streak! Farrington has been one of
the fastest Crazy Horse Racing Super Late Models so it's
no surprise that he captured his 3rd win in a row this
past Saturday night.
Dustin Salley of Mechanic
Falls picked up his first win of the season in theTiger
Cat Figure 8s presented by Vierra State Farm Agency.
Kevin Varney led the majority before falling back with a
mechanical failure on lap 9. Salley took the lead, Jason
Cyr of Turner finished the race in 2nd and Charlie Hall
Jr of Oxford took home 3rd place,
Chloe Kiley of
South Paris captured her 5th win of the season in the
Allen's Coffee Flavored Brandy Ladies. Kasie Kolbe took
the early lead and led the first 5 laps before Kiley
took the lead,Kiley led the rest of the 20 lap feature.
Kasie Kolbe of Lisbon settled for 2nd place while Sue
Veinott of Greene rounded out the top 3.
Bill
Grover of Waterford won his 2nd race of the season in
the Rogees Auto Repair & Sales Cruisers. Dominik
Knowlton took the early lead with Bill Grover behind him
in 2nd. Grover passed Knowlton on lap 3 for the lead.
Will Dunphy followed Grover also passing Knowlton on lap
5. D. Knowlton fell back and Phil Knowlton moved into
2nd. Will Dunphy of New Glouester spent the entire race
chasing down Grover but ended up settling for a 2nd
place finish with Phil Knowlton finishing behind him in
3rd.
Cam Childs of Leeds won his 2nd Harnish HVAC
Consulting Outlaws feature of the season. Breeanna
Spaulding took the early lead with John Lizotte in 2nd
and Cam Richards Jr. in 3rd. Rick Thompson passed
Richards on lap 3 for 3rd. Shortly after Brady Childs
passed Thompson for 3rd. Cam Childs began making his
move racing on the outside of Brady Childs. After two
cautions one after another on lap 6 and 7, Spaulding and
B. Childs got into each other bringing out another
caution. B. Childs pulled it into the pits while
Spaulding stayed out on the track. C. Childs took the
lead on the restart with the front runners out of his
way. Cam Childs led the rest of the 20 lap race. Brandon
Varney of Mechanic Falls took home a solid 2nd place
with Deanna Bisbee finishing in 3rd.
Greg Norton
took home his first Mixers Nightclub and Lounge Rebels
feature of the season. Norton took the early lead with
AJ Smith and Dustin Salley behind him. Salley passed
Smith on the inside for 2nd on lap 7. After a caution on
lap 8, Norton kept the lead but he had some new
challengers. Chris Foster had moved into 2nd and Matt
Mahar was in 3rd. David Cook came out of nowhere passing
Mahar on lap 13 but Mahar took the spot back and Cook
fell off the pace. On lap 19 another caution came out,
when Foster got spun on the back stretch right into a
sandpile putting the end to his race. Mahar took the
lead on the restart and led the rest of the race. Greg
Norton was named the official race winner after tech,
Dustin Salley of Mechanic Falls finished 2nd, and Nate
Dubuc of Lewiston got 3rd place.
Ryan Farrar
dominated his 5th DnL Weatherization Sport Trucks
feature of the season. On lap 1, a red flag was waved
when the trucks shuffled midpack leading to someone
getting into Alex Moore causing his truck to flip over
on turn 4. Moore was fine but it put an end to his race
before it even began. On the restart Farrar took the
lead and didn't look back. Ryan Farrar led the rest of
the feature, Jake Dobson of Hartford picked up 2nd and
Randy Green of West Paris got 3rd place.
Kyle
Glover of Oxford drove it to the winners circle during
the Vierra State Farm Agency Figure 8s. Larry Lizotte of
Poland took home a 2nd place finish with Eric Hodgkins
of Winthrop rounding out the top 3.
Chad Wills of
Oxford found his way back to Victory Lane winning his
2nd Spencer Paving Group Bandits feature of the season.
Brady Heath and Wills battled for the lead on the first
lap before Wills fell back to 3rd and Eric Parlin moved
into 2nd. By lap 3, Parlin had taken the lead from Heath
and Wills followed, pulling into 2nd on lap 4. Heath
continued falling back so Alex Mowatt took over 3rd
place. Mowatt moved up to challenge Wills; they raced
side by side until Mowatt was able to take 2nd when they
reached lap cars. After a caution on lap 11, Parlin kept
the lead with Mowatt and Wills putting the pressure on.
Mowatt and Wills both ended up falling back to 2nd and
4th but during the final lap Parlin slipped back and the
field got shuffled. Chad Wills came out on top with Jeff
Libby of Auburn taking home 2nd and Chris Foster of
Bridgton getting a 3rd place finish.
Cam Childs
of Leeds went 2-for-2 and also won the Outlaw Open held
Saturday night during the Oxford Championship series.
Childs took the early lead and led the entire feature.
Rick Thompson of Casco picked up 2nd with Brady Childs
of Leeds getting 3rd.
Alan Wilson took the early
lead during the Crazy Horse Racing Super Late Model
feature with Calvin Rose Jr. in 2nd and Shawn Martin in
3rd. After a caution on lap 7, Wilson kept the lead but
had Josh Childs racing up the outside groove passing
Martin then Rose on lap 11. On lap 15 after a caution
Childs was right on Wilson's bumper looking to take the
lead. Curtis Gerry made his way through the field
passing Rose on lap 24 for 3rd then passed Childs on lap
29 for 2nd. Halfway through the race it looked like
Gerry would end up taking the lead and dominating the
rest of the race, but Dave Farrington Jr. surprised us
all making his way to the front from deep in the field.
Farrington passed Childs for 3rd on lap 35. Gerry was so
close to taking the lead from Wilson when a caution came
out on lap 37. Wilson held on to the lead on the restart
with Gerry behind him and Farrington on the outside
groove. Farrington took over 2nd on lap 44 before taking
the lead from Wilson with only 4 laps to go. Wilson
fought back trying to pass him to take back the lead
until the end. Alan Wilson of Hebron settled for a 2nd
place finish with Curtis Gerry of Waterboro taking home
3rd. |
