Doiron Tops the Field at OPS
|
OXFORD - Joey Doiron of Berwick took
home the win in the 50 lap Super Late Model feature
Saturday night following an impressive 3rd place in the
Oxford 250 on August 30th.
Kevin Varney of
Mechanic Falls captured his 2nd win of the season in the
Tiger Cat Figure 8s presented by Vierra State Farm
Agency. Scott Merrill took the early lead before Varney
took the lead on lap 6. The final laps were wild.
Merrill took the lead back while Charlie Hall Jr. made
contact with Varney and passed him for 2nd before Varney
finally took the lead for the final time on lap 13.
Charlie Hall Jr. of Oxford finished in 2nd with Ralph
Green of Auburn picking up 3rd place.
Addie
McDaniel of Bridgton won her 2nd Ladies feature in a
row. Betty Nelson took the early lead before McDaniel
drove up the outside passing both 2nd and 1st place to
take the lead on lap 5. Nelson slid back to 3rd while
Chloe Kiley raced in 2nd. McDaniel led the rest of the
15 lap feature. Chloe Kiley of South Paris finished in
2nd and Betty Nelson of Limington rounded out the top 3.
Dominik Knowlton of Minot dominated in the Rogees
Auto Repair Cruisers to earn his first career win.
Knowlton took the lead on lap 2 and led the rest of the
feature. Will Dunphy raced in 2nd early on in the race
before falling off the pace and pulling it into the pit
area on lap 9. Bill Grover of Waterford finished in 2nd
with Gerard Cote of Oxford taking home 3rd place.
Deanna Bisbee won her first Harnish HVAC Consulting
Outlaws feature of the season. Bisbee started pole and
led all of the 20 lap feature. It was no easy feat she
had Cam Childs and Brandon Varney chasing her down most
of the race. Even after a few cautions Childs and Varney
still couldn't catch the veteran driver. Cam Childs of
Leeds ended up settling for 2nd place while Brandon
Varney of Mechanic Falls picked up 3rd.
Chris
Foster of Bridgton won his first race of the season in
the Mixers Nightclub and Lounge Rebels. Foster took the
lead before the first lap was complete. Thomas Richards
and AJ Smith raced in 2nd and 3rd until a caution came
out on lap 5. Foster kept the lead on the restart,
Dustin Salley moved into 2nd and Greg Norton moved into
3rd. Salley and Norton spent the rest of the feature
chasing Foster down. Dustin Salley of Mechanic Falls and
Greg Norton of Lewiston finished 2nd and 3rd
respectively.
Jake Dobson of Hartford won his 4th
DnL Weatherization Sport trucks feature of the season.
Dobson took the early lead before getting loose and
falling back. Autumn Berry took the lead. Dobson passed
Ryan Farrar for 2nd on lap 2 before taking the lead back
on lap 5. Alex Moore and Lukas Mitchell moved up to
battle for 3rd. After a caution on lap 11 Moore moved
into 3rd. Ryan Farrar of Oxford finished in 2nd with
Alex Moore of Oxford getting 3rd.
Kyle Glover of
Oxford won his 2nd of the season in the Vierra State
Farm Agency Figure 8s. Glover took the lead on lap 10
and led the rest of the 15 lap feature. Dale Lawrence of
Minot finished in 2nd with Larry Lizotte of Poland
taking home 3rd.
Jeff Libby of Auburn led all 20
laps of the Spencer Paving Group Bandits to pick up his
first career win. Chad Wills of Oxford chased him during
the race but ended up settling for 2nd while Luke Mowatt
of Norway finished in 3rd place.
Alex Wilson of
Naples won his 4th T&M Commercial Funding Rookies
feature of the season. After a bad start, Dylan Cook
took the lead on the restart from Sam Wardwell. By lap
3, Wilson had moved up the outside and smoothly passed
Cook for the lead. Cook fell back to 2nd where Maddy
Herrick was there ready for a challenge. Cook and
Herrick spent the rest of the 15 lap feature racing side
by side for 2nd. Dylan Cook of Minot ended up getting
2nd at the end with Maddy Herrick picking up an
impressive 3rd place.
Billy Childs Jr. of Leeds
picked up his 2nd win of the season in the Street
stocks. Childs battled Michael Haynes at the start
before Childs pulled away to the lead on lap 3. Matt
Dufault spent most of the race defending 3rd place from
Dan Brown before he fell back to 4th late in the race.
Billy Childs Jr. led the rest of the 30 lap race.
Michael Haynes of Turner finished in 2nd with Dan Brown
of Peru rounding out the top 3.
Alan Tardiff took
the early lead in the Crazy Horse Super Late Models with
Shawn Martin and Kyle Desouza behind him. Joey Doiron
cruised on up through the field taking over 2nd place on
lap 10 while Martin slid back to 3rd. The following lap
Dorion passed Tardiff for the lead and didn't look
back.Tardiff started falling back and was out of the top
3 by lap 17. After a caution on lap 19, Dorion remained
the leader and Desouza raced Martin for 2nd, finally
getting the spot on lap 21. Calvin Rose Jr. made his
move and passed Martin for 3rd on lap 23. Dorion led the
rest of the feature. Kyle Desouza of Turner finished a
solid 2nd place with Calvin Rose Jr. of Turner rounding
out the field. |
