CAPTURES INAGURAL PASS NORTHEAST LM SERIES EVENT |
Day two of the Oxford 250
weekend went off without a hitch at Oxford Plains
Speedway in Oxford, Maine, as pleasant skies, and
comfortable temperatures brought out a big crowd to
enjoy Dunkin’ Donuts and Dave’s Small Engine Repair
Night. Drivers visiting Allen’s Coffee Flavored Brandy
victory lane included Ben Ashline, Avery Stoehr, Jake
Smith, Tyson Jordan, Eddie Gilman, Michael Haynes, Bobby
Symonds and Paul Pierce.
Ben Ashline took control
just past the halfway mark of the Dave’s Small Engine
Repair, PASS Northeast Late Model Series main event, and
then held off a late race challenge by Bobby Babb, and
Travis Stearns. Ashline scored the win with, Babb,
Stearns, Ryan Dean and Ryan Morgan on his heels.
Avery Stoehr held off a late charge from Randy Cabral to
take home the NEMA Midget 25 lap feature. Bethany
Stoehr, Jim Chambers and Todd Bertrand completed the top
five. Jake Smith rolled to the win in the NEMA Lite
feature ahead Danny Cugini, Randy Cabral, Kevin Hutchens
and Matt Swanson.
Tyson Jordan raced by Zach
Emerson with seven laps remaining to pick up his first
Allen’s Coffee Flavored Brandy Street Stock win of 2014.
Emerson, Spencer Morse, Richard Spaulding and Ricky
Morse rounded out the top five.
Michael Haynes
got back on track as he held off a frantic late race
charge from Cody Chiasson and point leader Troy Jordan
to pick up the win in the Ripley and Fletcher Ford
Outlaw Sportsman. Dave Cameron and Steve Moon placed
fourth and fifth.
The Southern New Hampshire
based Northeast Classic Lites invaded OPS for their
first ever appearance and they thrilled the crowd as Ed
Gilman scored an impressive win over Sean Waites, Jim
Wentworth, George Helliwell and Jake Cray.
The
Wicked Good Vintage Racers saw Paul Pierce and Bobby
Symonds go home victorious.
The next event on the
calendar will be on Saturday night, August 2, Whited RV
night as Oxford Plains Speedway moves from Fridays to
Saturday night racing. The PASS Sportsman, Pro Late
Models, Street Stocks, Outlaw Sportsman and Bandito’s
