Another quality day of family
Go-Kart racing took place on Saturday, August 2nd at
Oxford Plains Speedway, and winners of the JAR Racing
Photography features included Dakota Tompkins, Brandon
Varney, Colby Brackett, Alex Moore and Gabe Brown.
The Sportsman class was not decided until late in
the race when Gabe Brown drove underneath Austin Teras
for the lead bring Tucker Olsen with him. The trio raced
bumper to bumper to the checkered flag. Brown was
credited for the win, ahead of Olsen, Teras, and Max
Cookson. Teras won the qualifying heat.
The Sr.
Sportsman saw Brandon Varney get to the front and was
never challenged during the race. Brooke Keene battled
her way to a solid second place finish ahead of Tucker
Olsen, Chad Snowman and Alex Ferland. Varney also
claimed the heat win.
The Jr. Sportsman battle
was a good one, as newcomer Alex Moore held off a late
race challenge from last week’s winner, Everett Allyn to
score the win. Riley Corbridge. Madison Morse, Dakota
Tompkins and Nick Moulton completed the field. Moore
also won the heat race.
The Box Stock class made
their first appearance of 2014, and Dakota Tompkins was
the winner in his heat and the feature. Ethan Gemmell
and Tyler Araujo followed him to the finish.
Colby Brackett won his first Jr. Box Stock feature of
the season as he defeated Dilen Drew, Tyler Araujo,
Maddy Herrick, Jeremy Desrochers and Logan Spencer.
Brackett also won the preliminary heat.
Go-Kart
racing returns to Oxford Plains Speedway on Thursday,
August 7th at 6:30pm. Pits will open at 4pm and practice
begins at 5pm. |
